The Russian Association of Statisticians establishes contacts with statisticians in Turkmenistan

Chairman of the Russian Association of Statisticians (RASt) Alexey N. Ponomarenko visited Turkmenistan on 20-25 May 2015 as a member of the World Bank expert team that provided technical assistance to the Turkmen statisticians in the development of the national accounts. During the visit, Mr. Ponomarenko met the Chairman of the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan Mr. Akmurat Mammedov. Mr. Ponomarenko briefed the Turkmen colleagues on RASt activities and invited them to take part in the I Open Russian Statistical Congress, which is jointly organised with the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management in Novosibirsk on October 20-22, 2015.
