RASt representative took part in the teleconference meetings of Working groups of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data
January 14, 2016 – Two working groups of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data(GPSDD) held teleconference meetings where Kirill Muradov, Head of RAS International Cooperation Unit was involved.
The members of the Working Group #4 “Data Events & World Data Forum Process” discussed the visibility of the GPSDD at the World Economic Forum in Davos (January 20-23, 2016) and a calendar of events that would allow to raise awareness of the sustainable development data issues. The Working Group looks forward to contributing to the World Data Forum, a key meeting to be held in November or December 2016 under the auspices of the UN Statistical Commission (location to be identified).
The virtual meeting of the Working Group #1 “Country-level Data Road Maps & Ecosystems” focused on the Toolkit to Construct Sustainable Development Goals Data Revolution Roadmaps implemented by Sustainable Development Solutions Network and supported by the World Bank Group. The toolkit in tabular format is expected to be finalized and disseminated to the GPSDD participants. Building on the Toolkit, first road maps are expected to be drawn for a group of “showcase” countries by September 2016 (nominees include Togo, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Philippines, Senegal, UK, USA).
GPSDD was set up in 2015 as a network of governments, international and non-governmental organisations, private sector who joined forces to ensure that quality data is available to all stakeholders for sustainable economic and social development.
